DEBRA JACKSON

Debra and her husband reside near the village of Millbrook , Ontario , where she has her studio. Having had no formal training, Debra has taught herself various techniques using colored pencils, watercolor, airbrush, and acrylics. Acrylics are her medium of choice for her bright bold floral paintings, which are often on a textured canvas to give a unique quality and feeling of depth to her work.

Debra has a great love of flowers and spends many hours in her large gardens on their 2-acre lot, this gives boundless inspiration and she will often paint outdoors amongst them in fair weather. Debra's style is unique without being tedious and overdone with detail. Complex simplicity that makes a statement of boldness like the first bursting blooms of spring. Her paintings have an abstract quality and excitement with movement, emotion and feeling, which is what she strives for in each of her paintings.

Having exhibited professionally at Juried Art Shows and Invitational Exhibits since 1993, Debra's original paintings can be found in private and corporate collections internationally.
